Large Garden Swing

Crafted from premium solid oak, this handmade oak rope swing is designed for adults and older children who want something more than a cheap garden toy. Whether you're creating a peaceful place to relax, adding character to a garden, or looking for a personalised wooden swing for a special outdoor space, this swing delivers strength, comfort, and timeless natural style.

Made from a thick solid oak board, the swing provides excellent stability, durability, and a smooth, comfortable seat. Oak is a strong, long-lasting hardwood with a beautiful natural grain, making it ideal for a high-quality garden swing that improves in character as it ages.

This wooden rope swing is sized to comfortably support both adults and older children. It works just as well as a relaxed garden seat as it does a traditional outdoor swing. Please note, this swing is not designed for use by children under 12 years old.

The rope is carefully threaded underneath the swing seat and then spliced back into itself, creating a strong, secure, and clean-looking finish without bulky knots hanging below the board. This gives the swing a more refined appearance while helping keep the rope connection strong and dependable.

For an extra personal touch, we can add a personalised message, name, date, or short description to the underside of the swing. This is ideal for family messages, memorial wording, children’s names, wedding gifts, anniversary gifts, birthday presents, or a hidden note that makes the piece feel properly special.

Each handmade oak swing comes ready to hang with strong rope and clear installation guidance, making it suitable for indoor or outdoor use, from garden trees to custom-built frames. As standard, we supply 3 metres of rope per side, however you can choose up to 6 metres per side if required.

For customers who prefer a simpler installation method, the rope can also be tied off securely where suitable. The best fixing method will depend on your chosen location, whether that’s a garden tree, indoor beam, pergola, or custom-built swing frame.

We can also supply marine-grade hardware fixings as an optional extra. These can be used to help secure and tidy the rope connection, especially for outdoor installations where a neat, weather-resistant fixing is preferred.
